///SCORP 2001 Aspiration Smoke Detection (ASD) Tester

SCORP 2001 Aspiration Smoke Detection (ASD) Tester

The Scorpion head unit is permanently mounted adjacent to a sampling point on an ASD system pipe – typically at the end of the run. Just one head unit is required for each pipe run – regardless of the number of sampling points.

Hard-to-access smoke detectors are common in most buildings; Scorpion has therefore been adopted across a wide range of sites – in particular:
  • Smoke tailored for functional testing of ASD systems
  • Adjustable smoke time to suit requirements of system under test
  • Suitable for Light Scatter, Particle Counting & Cloud Chamber technologies
  • Transport time function allows monitoring of on-going ASD system performance
  • Product Code: SCORP 2001

Description

SCORP 2001 – Scorpion 2001 Aspiration Smoke Detection (ASD) Unit

Scorpion is a universal functional test remedy for challenging-to-access point smoke detectors. SCORP 2001 is forever installed adjacent to the detector it is developed to test and can be equipped as a retrofit or as a component of a new installation. The smoke test is then run from a convenient place whenever needed.

Scorpion activates smoke detectors (ionization and optical/photoelectric technologies) from the world’s major manufacturers. These incorporate detectors used in smoke activated fire door closing systems. A Scorpion installation uses its own cabling – keeping it separate from the fire detection system.

How does it work?

A Scorpion Head Device is connected to an simply accessible Control Panel or Access point, which is where the Service Engineer interfaces with the Scorpion system. The Control Panel or Access Point can be positioned around the fire panel or Control and indicating units, allowing the Engineer to check each the smoke activation from the Scorpion as well as its influence on the detector.

A Control Panel can control up to eight (8) Scorpion Head Units positioned up to a hundred meters away dependent on cable sort utilized.

An Engineers Portable Controller, used in conjunction with an Access Point, gives a substitute solution for sites with only a small quantity of challenging-to-access detectors. In these cases, every Scorpion Head Device is permanently wired to an Access Point, again positioned up to one hundred metres away dependent on cable type utilised.

The system is driven and activated by way of the Control Panel or Engineers Portable Controller utilizing a removable battery pack or battery baton, leaving the program inert when not in use – preventing accidental or false activation.
