Aspirating Smoke Detection (ASD) System2019-10-31T12:27:57+00:00
Aspirating smoke detection System (ASD) are much more advantageous than passive smoke detectors as they are not reliant on room airflow.

This means that they are able to detect smoke before it is even visible which is crucial when it comes to alerting building occupants, saving lives and closely protecting valuable equipment and data storage.

By law, all workplaces must have some sort of smoke detection system in place. There are various detectors available to buy on the market and we have tested and hand-picked only the best to safeguard your premises.
  • Vesda VSP-005 Filter Cartridge (Singular)The VESDA replacement filter cartridge (VSP-005 for single units and VSP-025 for a pack of 20) is used to replace filter cartridges in VESDA LaserCOMPACT, LaserFOCUS, LaserPLUS and LaserSCANNER detectors. One model fits all detectors.Key Features:
    • Easy swap replacement filter
    • Fits VLC, VLF, VLP and VLS VESDA detectors
    • Available singly or in packs of 20
    • 90 mm x 63 mm x 30 mm (3.5 in. x 2.5 in. x 1.2 in.)
  • The LaserSCANNER is similar to the standard LaserPLUS detector, but also includes a valve mechanism in the inlet manifold and software to control the airflow from the four VESDA sectors (pipes). This configuration enables a single VESDA zone to be divided into four separate sectors, for example, distinguishing between separate voids within a room or seperate cabinets within the same room.

  • The VESDA LaserFOCUS detector delivers the most advanced air sampling smoke detection technology to small environments - cost effectively. The VLF-250 model protects areas up to 250 sq.m. In addition to the features found in all VESDA Laser products, the VESDA LaserFOCUS provides a new range of features & built-in intelligence that allow quick installation, commissioning and servicing.
  • The VESDA LaserFOCUS detector delivers the most advanced air sampling smoke detection technology to small environments - cost effectively. The VLF-500 model protects areas up to 500 sq.m. In addition to the features found in all VESDA Laser products, the VESDA LaserFOCUS provides a new range of features & built-in intelligence that allow quick installation, commissioning and servicing.
  • The VESDA-E VEA Local Relay StaX allows signalling of alarm location from the detector via relays and provides mounting of fire panel loop input modules inside the enclosure. It is directly powered and controlled from the detector. Depending on the configuration a VEA detector can power and control up to two (2) Expansion StaX and up to three (3) Relay StaX. Each Relay StaX provides 40 relay connections corresponding to 40 tubes on a VEA detector or Expansion StaX providing full addressability.
  • The VESDA VLI by Xtralis is an industry first early warning aspirating smoke detection (ASD) system, designed to protect industrial applications and harsh environments of up to 2000m2 (20,000 sq. ft.).The VLI detector combines a fail-safe Intelligent Filter (patent pending) with an advanced clean-air barrier for optics protection allowing the use of absolute detection and a long detection chamber life without the need for recalibration.
  • The VESDA VLI by Xtralis is an industry first early warning aspirating smoke detection (ASD) system, designed to protect heavy industrial applications with dirty or harsh environments of up to 2000m2 (20,000 sq. ft.).Until now ASD has not been recommended in challenging dirty environments, however the new Vesda VLI removes any previous boundaries enabling the facility of very early smoke detection in almost any conditions. The VLI detector combines a fail-safe Intelligent Filter (patent pending) with an advanced clean-air barrier for optics protection allowing the use of absolute detection and a long detection chamber life without the need for recalibration.
  • The VESDA-E VES can identify and monitor smoke density by individual sampling pipe (sector) which allows a single zone to be divided into four separate sectors; for example, distinguishing between separate aisles within a data room. Sector addressability enables the user to respond to a potential fire event quickly by reducing the search area. The VESDA-E VES has four programable alarm thresholds (Alert, Action, Fire 1 and Fire 2) per pipe that allows flexible field application. After the detector identifies the first sector to reach the Alert threshold it continues to sample from all sectors to report real time status per sector via the intuitive touch screen display. Built on the Flair detection technology and years of application experience the VESDA-E VES detector delivers very early warning with the best in class dust rejection throughout its lifetime.

  • The ICAM IAS Air-sampling Smoke Detection systems provide a flexible solution to meet the unique needs of numerous applications including industrial spaces such as cable tunnels, the tamper-proof and unobtrusive requirements of special accommodation, or can simply be used to replace spot (point) detectors in office environments. The IAS systems actively draw air from the protected area through sampling holes in a pipe network. Sampled air is then filtered before being analysed by conventional or analogue point detectors incorporated in the systems.
